Hmong Fashion
Hmong fashion has remained essentially unchanged over centuries of oppression and forced migration, and today Hmong fashion is an important part of the Hmong identity. Traditional Hmong fashion is still worn daily by many Hmong still living in Asia, although there are large groups of Hmong living in the US, primarily in California and throughout the Midwest. Traditional Hmong fashion is worn by these Hmongs on holidays or special occasions only, and everyday life will find them dressed much the same as their Western counterparts.
Traditional Hmong fashion is remarkably intricate; it can take over an hour for a woman to get dressed for a wedding or special ceremony.
