Hmong Men's Clothing

Today most Hmong men wear their traditional clothing only on holidays or for special ceremonies.  Hmong men’s clothing is quite simple in comparison with women’s fashions.

The traditional Hmong men’s clothing is almost always primarily black.  Hmong men’s clothing consists of a pair of black pants with an embroidered band at the waist.  A black shirt is tucked in at the waist, and sometimes a vest is worn on top.  In some clans, Hmong men’s clothing includes a cap or other type of headwear, a necklace or a long, embroidered, apron-like piece of cloth hung from the belt in the front.
