Hmong Textiles

The Hmong people are easily recognizable by the unique and beautiful textiles they use to make clothing and blankets.  In fact, Hmong textiles are considered works of art and large collections of Hmong textiles are featured at the Denver Museum of Natural History in Denver, CO and the C.N. Gorman Museum in Davis, CA.  Hmong textiles are known as Paj ntaub, or “flower cloth” and are still being produced by Hmong artists here in the US.  Hmong textiles are often made of bright, vivid colors, feature designs and patterns which are derived from forms in nature, and are symbolic in Hmong culture.
