Traditional Hmong Clothing

The Hmong people are an Asian ethnic group from the mountanios regions of Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, and Burma.  Traditional Hmong clothing is still worn daily by many Hmong still living in Asia, although there are large groups of Hmong living in the US, primarily in California and throughout the Midwest.  Traditional Hmong clothing is worn by these Hmongs on holidays or special occasions only, and everyday life will find them dressed much the same as their Western counterparts.

Traditional Hmong clothing is remarkably intricate; it can take over an hour for a woman to get dressed for a wedding or special ceremony.
